Thirst for change – working towards healthier people and a healthier planet
Our planet is precious – and so are the people on it.
As part of our social and environmental responsibility, we want to do everything we can to make it better – for everyone.
This got us thinking, how can we help reduce our own impact on the environment while lending a helping hand to those in need?
We started by giving all our staff water flasks to replace single-use plastic water bottles – so we can refill, not landfill.
This saved excess water and plastic waste, while reducing our CO2 emissions.
Not only does this save valuable resources, but it saves money too. In fact, we worked out that we’ve saved $10,000 already – and we hope to double that by the end of the year.
These savings will be donated to Planet Water, a non-profit organisation dedicated to bringing clean water to the world’s most impoverished communities.
And together, we plan to install an Aquatower in the Philippines – bringing fresh, clean water to those who need it most.
KPS staff collectively voted to build the Aquatower on Polilo Island in the Philippines, and on World Water Day (22 March 2022), we aim to install it at a local primary school.
The tower will have built-in filtration to provide safe, clean drinking water for the school and the local community of up to 1,000 people. It comes with a 4-year support and maintenance plan, and ongoing education about water and health for the community.
Why are we doing it?
Because we believe in creating for good.
Design and construction have the power to enhance the environment and improve
lives. This is our way of making people – and mother nature – smile.
It’s evidence that small changes to our lives, can make a big difference to others.
