Doing well - Lale community water well project
Every year, one million people die from water, sanitation, and hygiene-related illnesses.
Surge For Water is a global non-profit dedicated to investing in communities by providing safe water, sanitation, and hygiene solutions. These essential resources help break the cycle of poverty and create lasting change.
Following our previous water project in the Philippines, we wanted to continue our efforts to change lives and provide help to those who need it most.
Surge For Water had plans to build a water well in a Ugandan village, bringing safe drinking water to the local community.
This would save them from having to trek 2.5km to the existing clean water source, or using the nearby swamp, which was previously causing waterborne illnesses.
To support the project, KPS funded the borehole and well construction – which now provides safe drinking water for over one thousand Ugandan villagers.
This has greatly improved the quality of life for the villagers, who now have access to an essential resource that most of us take for granted.
